Q2- Summer!
So summer has never really been a huge deal for me. Everyone I know can not stop talking about their summer and what they plan on doing the entire time. Summer is a break from school, thank Jesus, but I don't think it's that amazing. Maybe it's because all I do is sleep the entire day, then chill outside. I mean we can't all have pools and mothers who we force to make us strawberry smoothies...I'm sorry, I meant mango smoothies. Anyways, I think this summer might be more pressured than most because I'm going to college in the fall, which will probably stress me out a bit. I also got a job this summer. It's just a babysitting gig, but it pays quite a bit. I'm really happy because they're kids that my mom once babysat, so I like them and will enjoy my time babysitting. I also plan on joining a volleyball league with a few teachers over the summer to stay in shape. I don't know any of the details because Mr. Helmicki and Mr. Casillo briefly told me about it, but I'm still pretty excited because my volleyball coach, Ms. Marslov, will be playing. I can already tell we're going to win because Coach Marslov has played volleyball since she was in middle school, and me...enough said... I'm just kidding, but I am really excited and optimistic that we will do really well. I will also be going to Outer Banks this year which is going to be awesome. We go every four years with a couple other families, but we're getting another additional family this year. I would explain what we do in Outer Banks, but it can get kind of inappropriate for school. It's not anything really bad, but I still shouldn't write about it in this sacred blogging world of Online Publishing. Alright that is pretty much all I can think about right now and I hope this is 300 words because I'm through with my thoughts... we're good.

Q1- Best Book EVER!
I suggest that everyone who reads this blog read Huckleberry Finn. It is literally the greatest book every written. Each character you read about, you can;t help but love. A boy named Huckelberry Finn who is finally getting his life together and making a difference in his personality pretty much reverts back to his childish and juvenile ways. I mean c'mon? How can you not love this guy? Another character is Huck's father. His father is a drunk and abusive man who is very keen on beating his son and locking him in a house while he finds more liquor... And the Father of the Year award goes to... Huck's dad! Again, a very lovable character. Then there is Jim, a slave of Huck's original residence. Not only is he super wise, his accent is probably the best thing since pancakes. Every time he speaks in the book, I can't help but read more and more because it's so legible and understandable. There are no apostrophes acting as letters, and you don't have to force a fake accent in your mind while reading. There was an entire chapter of just Jim speaking and I cried real tears because of the beautiful speech he gave. The more and more I think about this book, I just want to read it over and over and over again. I'd have to say that my favorite part in this entire novel is when Huck dresses like a woman and goes to a house in order to get information. This is just great writing overall. Who can come up with these events? This is just brilliant. This also makes me love Huck even more because dressing up like a woman and traveling into town and meeting another lady for information makes so much sense, it's not even debatable. More guys should be like Huck Finn and dress like girls. Despite Huck's dazzling personality, Jim is definitely my favorite character all because of his near perfect diction and amazing vocabulary. Well, all in all I think that this storyline is one of the greatest I've ever read and I can't say it enough about it. Thankfully the opportunity to read this novel comes with signing up for Rob Currin's A.P. Literature and Composition class your senior year. You even get to read it over the summer which makes the experience so much better! It's not difficult at all to write a journal entry for each chapter because the read is so much fun! If you can't take A.P. Lit, I understand, (but seriously it is the most fun class I have other than Online Publishing and is totally worth taking) but I hope you can just take a chance to read Huckleberry Finn.

P3- Wuv You Guys!
So I'd like to dedicate my second choice blog to my two best friends in the whole world, Emma Kubik and Melissa Gostomski. I first met Melissa when I was in eighth grade. We both joined a recreational dance group over the summer and were both moved up into an advanced class. We were pretty big deals I know. We got to dance with our dance instructors and I think we just bonded over our awesomeness. I didn't become best friends with her until freshman year though, when we both tried out for volleyball. I remember her as the jokester, as she is still known as. We would always play around and she would always get in trouble and I never did, which made her pretty angry... but we were still best friends. Despite her big personality, she is really super sweet. She always laughs at my jokes which makes me feel better about myself and she always knows how to make me smile on a really bad day. I love that no matter what, we can just laugh about the smallest things and take a break from the serious world of school. Honestly, I wouldn't be able to get through Spanish 5 without her and her hilarious comments. We had chorus together as well, which is when we started talking to Emma Kubik. We also had volleyball with Emma, which enhanced our friendship. Oh Emma, I love her so much. She is the sweetest, cutest, skinniest, sweetest, and slowest person you'll ever meet (Yes, I know I wrote sweetest twice). By slowest, I mean joke-wise. Melissa is definitely the quickest joke maker of our friendship. I'm the second quickest, and poor Emma is the third quickest. It's actually the funniest thing when she tries to be super quick, but fails. Anyways, Emma is also the easiest person to talk to, which is why I love her so much. When I'm having a rough day, all I have to do is walk by her and hear her sing my name and I feel ten times better. Plus for our volleyball senior night, Emma wrote me a speech and I could not stop crying necause it was so sweet. I'm not a big crier at all and I couldn't stop. I just love her so much! Not only do I love Melissa and Emma, but my family also can't get enough of them. My sister, Andi, is always telling me to invite them over when she's around. It's like she'd rather hang out with me and my friends than just me...... suspicious. Anyways, my favorite part about our friendship is the movie quotes we reenact. I can't tell you how many quotes we share daily. I'd say we quote the movies Baby Mama and Anchorman every day. There are also a lot of cartoon movies, but we won't get into that because the movies we watch might get embarrassing at times. I would write out each and every quote we say, but there is seriously not enough room. In each of their yearbooks last year, I took an entire page and I made a chart and a drawing for each of them. I don't mean to brag or anything, but they were kind of epic. I can't explain enough about how much I love these girls, but I think this blog got the highlights of our friendship!
P4- Reflection Time...
So in September, the Bulldog staff had to write about our goals and what we hope to accomplish in the upcoming school year. I am very happy with the choices I've made this year and the accomplishments I've made. I wrote about the classes I chose to take: Pre-Calc and Physics. Well, right now I don't regret taking Pre-Calc or Physics because I actually understand the majority of the subjects we're learning about in each class. I think that usually I get bored with these classes because they're right after each other the first two blocks of the day. It doesn't help my interest in the subject when I'm literally half asleep. However, I'm not going to lie, my Spanish 5 class has been pretty rough on me. I have to start over my entire final project because the concept that was approved was too vague. I know this was my own fault, but it was pretty upsetting to find out about redoing everything. Anyways, in my blog at the beginning of the year I wrote that I wanted to go into a medical career, but I changed my career choice back to becoming an English teacher. I decided that I could never be as happy in the medical field as I would be as a teacher. I'm really excited because I was accepted to Niagara in their Education program. I will be attending this fall, and I'm super stoked. I haven't gotten nervous about college yet, but I feel like I'm on the verge of a breakdown...I'm joking of course, but I do think I'm getting more and more nervous, but mostly excited. Also the majority of my blog from the beginning of the year was about my sprained ankle... It isn't sprained anymore so that's cleared up... And that's about it for my goals and such.

P2- My First Choice Blog This Week!
So about two weeks ago, the Alden Bulldog Newspaper staff held a draft where each member was moved to increase productivity in the work force. I originally sat on the right side of the room, from the door, close to the windows. I sat next to Kathleen Herter and Laura Slojkowski. I had probably the best times of my life near those two. Anyways after we changed seats, Mr. Currin moved me in between Mike Steffan and Brian Stoldt. At first I was a little apprehensive about this arrangement, but Mr. Currin reassured me that it would all work out for the better. So, I trusted Mr. Currin and decided this would be a good thing. Boy was I mistaken. I'm not going to lie, the conversations I've heard are very hostile and extremely confusing. For example, today Mike Steffan asked Brian Stoldt what teacher he should write an article about this week. By the way, we were assigned this article about three days ago. Many people had already chosen their teachers. So Brian responds with a speech on how he's given Mike plenty of choices and that Mike needs to get on task. This conversation went on for a good 25 minutes. There was a lot of repetition and quite a bit of close calls when it comes to curse words. I started to get a little nervous for awhile, then Mike finally chose to write about Mrs. Delzer. This marked a truce in their battle, and I made a small sarcastic comment on how strong their friendship is. I had no idea that this would cause an outbreak. Brian agreed that their friendship was very good, but Mike said that it's a "love-hate" relationship. This is where sh#$ hit the fan. I'm sorry for my almost bad language, but that's how it was. So, Brian then confronted Mike on what the "hate" part of the relationship is. Mike did not respond and pretty much shrugged the entire time. Then Brian went into another speech on their relationship and asked why it was a "love-hate" relationship. This then went on for about 10 minutes. I'm not going to lie, I feel in danger almost the entire work day. And now Brian is giving editor advice to Mike and is feeling lied to. I had to meet with Brian for one of these "advice sessions," but when you have the best reporters in the world it's pretty difficult to take any other advice, but I'm sure he was helpful to other editors... So, now Brian is saying that he feels attacked and that no one respects his authority because of a vote ending in a 4-1 vote that his meetings were not helpful. I felt pretty bad for him, but Mike's response was "I don't feel bad at all." I'm going to go ahead and say this is the "hate" part in their "love-hate" relationship.

P1- T.V. Time!
Television is a very touchy subject. It's bad in so many ways, but it also benefits a lot of peoples. I probably watch more T.V. than I should, but it's just a part of my daily schedule. After school, I go straight to my homework and once I finish that I turn on the T.V. and watch until about 9 o'clock. I know this is kind of rough, but I don't have as much to do as I used to. When my mom babysat at home, I used to come home and she'd have food ready for me. This also contributes to my bad eating habits, but that is a completely different subject. Now, I'm not saying that my mom is the reason I watch so much T.V. It's really my choice and I just get home and have the urge to watch Law and Order S.V.U. This brings me to what T.V. shows I watch. Law and Order S.V.U. is definitely my top show. I'm not really sure why because pretty sensitive subjects, like rape and child abuse are involved, but I'm just always in the mood to watch it. Now that I think about it that makes me sound kind of weird...Anyways, another show I find myself watching is Dance Moms. This show makes me so angry, I can't even explain it. Well, actually I can because I wrote an entire blog on it once. I keep watching it because I think it makes me feel better about my life and that I don't have to deal with these people. And finally, my favorite show of all time would have to be Psych. Not many people have seen this show, and it makes me so sad because all my T.V. quotes are from this show and no one ever knows what I'm talking about. I think it's the funniest show because the actors in it are so witty and just hilarious. This show is about a very observant guy who pretends he's psychic to solve crimes with his best friend and a police station. This is a really vague description of the plot line and it doesn't give the show any justice, but trust me, if you watch it you'll agree with me! Alright, now on to the rest of the blog requirement: So there are two televisions in my house that have D.V.R. (I suggest you get it because it is awesome) These actually cause problems because whenever my dad wants to watch a game, he always has to check if I'm recording anything. Plus most of the time, it's my older sister Alli recording her "Real Housewives of New Jersey" episodes. Other than that, D.V.R. is my best friend.

O3- Ode to Julie Fetzer...
So for my choice blog, I've decided to confess that I am feeling lost without my good friend, Julie Fetzer. She is on a cruise this week and will not be in school until Monday. This is great for her, but miserable for me because Julie and I always make our "rounds" after second block and walk to Mrs. Gramza's advisement afterwards. We have either Physics, Physics Lab, or Physical Education depending on the day. Thankfully we are in the same class second block everyday, so we can begin our "rounds" directly after the bell rings and don't have to worry about trying to find each other or waiting for one another. So our "rounds" usually begin at Mr. Domino's classroom where we walk downstairs to Julie's locker, which is right across from Mr. Currin's classroom. After Julie puts all her folders away, we say hello to Mr. Currin, just to be nice and have a quick discussion about our A.P. Lit class and what our plans were for the day. After we bid the Currin Advisement Family farewell, we walk down to the hallway with the guidance office and turn right to get to my locker so I can put my books away. Once I finish with the placing of my books, Julie and I go to her advisement so she can sign in and out. Then we visit Mr. Wild to check on National Honor Society news. Julie goes because she is the president, and I just tag along since I have no other friends to walk with.....or just any other friends.....Anyways, we then go to Mrs. Gramza's advisement where we tend to Student Congress matters, and make fun of Jordan Hall because he doesn't do anything to help us and just gets lunch while we plan and actually do work. So back to my problem with Julie not being around... Since Julie is absent, going to her locker would be unnecessary for me, which would force me to go straight to my locker after second block. This then eliminates the opportunity to visit Mr. Currin's advisement. I also skip going to Julie's advisement for obvious reasons, and Mr. Wild always claims he has nothing new for NHS, so I finish the "rounds" extremely early and have nowhere to go, but Mrs. Gramza's advisement, which is full of freshmen. Don't get me wrong, I actually like the kids in her advisement, but during the announcements they're really quiet...I mean really quiet. It makes me a little nervous, but it's my only option. So this is why Julie Fetzer's absence is really affecting me. I hope she is having a fun time on her cruise, but I cannot wait for her to return so I don't have to be super awkward in the halls.
